GSK Scholarship, UK [Fully Funded]

The applicants are welcome to educate themselves as leaders in public health practice with the GSK scholarship. All scholars will educate the next generation with more updated expertise and techniques. These GSK Master’s scholarships are incredibly competitive, but this is a life-changing experience simultaneously.

All applicants will study at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for a year and undergo the MSc curriculum based in London. The 2021-22 GSK Future Health Leaders Scholarships include tuition fees, housing expenses, stipends, and field trips. Also, students can take part in studies related to wellness.

For the 2021-22 academic year, three scholarships are open. Each scholarship will cover:

• tuition fees, including any mandatory field trip fees; and
• a tax-free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 17,400.00.

Eligibility Criteria for the GSK Scholarships, UK

• The candidate must hold a 1st or 2nd class degree of Bachelor’s or equivalent.
• The candidates must be a resident of sub-Saharan Africa.
• The candidate must be willing to be a full-time student for one year while studying a master’s degree program.
• The candidates must meet the English language requirements of the institute.
• The candidate must hold an offer letter for one of the master’s programs of LSHTM.

The Procedure to Apply for GSK UK Scholarship 2021

There are two steps for the scholarship application process;

• First, the candidate must apply for admission to the London-based MSc program as per rules and instructions.
• After successful submission of the admission form, the candidate must submit an online scholarship application.
• The candidate must fill-out the supplementary questions of the form.
• All the required documents should be attached to the admission application; the list of the same is below.

• The application deadline for the GSK International Scholarship 2021 in the UK is 28 February 2021.

The candidate must keep in mind the following while filling out the Application.

Admission Fee

Applicants are recommended to complete Phase 1 early to allow time to process their payment of the GBP 50.00 LSHTM admissions application fee. Applicants will not be able to apply for a research report until the invoice is received. Therefore, we will request that students complete this funding and submit their thesis applications at least 1-2 weeks before the scholarship deadline to ensure no gaps in admissions or payment processing that may affect reaching the scholarship deadline. We will advise candidates, where possible, to request a full research application as far in advance of the scholarship deadline as possible to allow timely processing.

Number of applications

Just one application for GSK Scholarships for Aspiring Health Leaders for 2021-22 should be submitted by each applicant. Therefore, we will advise applicants to review their online applications and attachments carefully before submission. The first submitted application will be considered, and there would be no chance of submitting the supplementary query form after submission.

Qualifying Criteria

Applicants who have already submitted and made an invitation of admission to a completed 2021-22 London-based MSc application can qualify for the scholarship by completing the scholarship application (step 2 above) and submitting it by the scholarship deadline.

For this funding, incomplete applications would not be accepted. Incomplete applications include those in both measures 1 and 2 above with incomplete, additional details. The thesis application and the application for a scholarship must all be submitted by the scholarship deadline. Applicants should ensure that, by the scholarship date, all required supplementary documents (including references) are sent through the LSHTM admissions portal.

Programs

These scholarships are open to students for each of LSHTM’s 19 non-distance learning Masters programs (including our joint programmes: MSc Global Mental Health; MSc Health Policy, Planning & Financing; MSc One Health, Veterinary Epidemiology). Please notice that you will be led to the joint provider for the following services to complete your study submission, as LSHTM does not conduct admissions for the following courses: MSc Global Mental Health; MSc One Health; MSc Veterinary Epidemiology.

Applicants whose research application is successful must pay a deposit within 28 days of submitting an entry offer. Applicants applying for LSHTM scholarships must contact the Admissions team to tell them that they are awaiting the result of the scholarship (applicants must provide the Admissions team with both the name of the scholarship and the expected decision date in this email). For any application for which the claimant has applied, this must be replicated. The Admissions Committee will then push the deposit date to match the decision deadline of the scholarship funding.

Applicants who experience some technical problems while using the online scholarships application process can, in the first place, consider clearing their browser cache and checking that they are using the newest update of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari.
