Fees for the academic year may be split into semester-specific payments except for health insurance. Health insurance fees are mandatory and cannot be split. They are paid as part of the first-semester fee each year and are non-refundable after the 10th day of class.
Health Insurance:
Health insurance fee processing will also be changing along with the length of health insurance coverage. While tuition fees will continue to be divided between two terms, health insurance will now be charged in full in the first term. Students will be covered from their term start: September 1, January 1, or May 1 through until August
31st of their school year. This coverage will remain in place while the students are in Ontario. If they leave the country or the province, their insurance will be suspended during that time. Health insurance will be $575 for students beginning school in September, $450 for students beginning school in January, and $225 for students beginning school in May. This fee will never be refundable after the 10th day of class (the last day to request a refund) as health insurance will have been purchased for a student. Please note that health insurance for EAP students will not be changing. EAP students will continue to be covered on an 8 week EAP per level basis.
Due to these changes, we have updated the Fees Information sheet we currently include with all offers letters. Please note that the above changes to fees due dates and health insurance are highlighted in yellow on the attached document. Please also note our refund policy at the bottom of the page which emphasizes the requirement to let us know if a student will not be attending Humber by the 10th day of classes – even if the students have not yet received a decision on their study permit application. In rare cases where there is an exception and a refund is granted, even though the student has missed the 10-day deadline, health insurance will not be refunded.
Refund / Withdrawal Policy
It is the student’s responsibility to become familiar with the Academic Regulations. If you withdraw from your program we strongly advise that you consult with the International Office as withdrawing may affect your status in Canada.
Refund requests must be submitted to the International Centre on or before the tenth official day of the term. There are no refunds after the tenth official day of the start of the term and students are liable for payment of outstanding fees. There are no exceptions to the refund policy for students who register late.
Full-time tuition fees are a package cost and dropping a course(s) does not qualify for a refund if you remain in full-time status. Unused credits are not transferable from one semester to another.
Please note that $1000 of the first term payment is automatically withheld once payment is made. If payment is applied to a future term, and the refund request occurs after the Fee Due Date for the future term, $1000 is automatically withheld. Changes from full-time status to part-time status will also result in $1000 being withheld. Refunds will be processed using the same method in which the payment was made.
