Scholarship Types

The University offers mainly two types of scholarships for international students, Singapore citizens and permanent Singapore residents.

SUTD President Graduate Fellowship (PhD)

  • Applicable for all nationalities
  • Fully Funded Tuition Fee
  • Monthly Stipend of $3500 for Singapore citizens, $3200 for Singapore Permanent Residents, and $3000 for international students.
  • Sponsored overseas research and industry internship opportunities

SUTD PhD Fellowship

  • All nationalities are eligible
  • Tuition Fee is fully funded
  • Monthly Stipend of $2700 (increased to $3200) for Singapore citizens, $2200 (increased to $2700) for Singapore Permanent Residents, and $2000 (increased to $2500) for international students after they have passed their Qualifying Exam.

Required Documents

If you want to fill the application to avail of the scholarship program, you must have the following documents –

  • Firstly, you must have the Original Transcript and Certificates of Undergraduate and Master’s Degree.
  • Thirdly, the GRE score is not mandatory. However, If you have your GRE scores with you, you can definitely mention them in your application.
  • Fourthly, a candidate must submit the soft copy of your Identity Card or Passport along with your application.
  • Fifthly, you must write a soft copy of your Statement of Purpose. You should write an SOP of about 3000 words.
  • Lastly, you must have 3 supporting Documents or Recommendation Letters. however, remember to mention the full Names, Designations and Contact Details of the 3 people who wrote you recommendations
