And that is why Salford has been the first-ever University in the UK to offer work placement years to students. Moreover, Salford University has announced that it will now be expanding to offer entire one-year work placements to Masters level students across a selection of courses in their business school.
First of all, the placement route will be optional. The students could be based regionally, nationally, or internationally. Moreover, the students will graduate with the term with ‘Industry Placement’ on their Master’s degree.
Secondly, all students will have the option to register for 9-12 month placement after they have joined the original one year program that they applied for. Students do not apply for a ‘two-year’ program and do not have to choose before they arrive, they will just extend their course once they are in the university. Lastly, they will need to extend their visa, but the university has considered these costs to the fee of the placement year and will fully support students in the visa extension process.
