About the University
The Purdue university was founded in 1869 after Lafayette businessman John Purdue donated land and money to establish a college of science, technology, and agriculture in his name. Moreover, the first classes were held on September 16, 1874, with six instructors and 39 students.

The university offers a handful courses of all fields for the students to choose from. More than 80 graduate programs are offered at West Lafayette campus and nearly 40 programs at 3 other campuses – Purdue Fort Wayne, Purdue Northwest (Hammond), IUPUI (Indianapolis) across Indiana.
