LL.B stands for Bachelor of Law. The eligibility for LLB is graduation from any field, be it be science ( B.Sc.), commerce ( B. Com.), or arts ( BA). For admission into LL.B, you need to attempt exams like CLAT ( Common Law Admission Test ), AILET ( All India Law Entrance Test ), etc. These exams are difficult to qualify, thus the candidates who could not qualify for this test or clear it can consider LLB distance education.

LLB Distance Education at a Glimpse
First of all, a regular LLB gives you theoretical knowledge along with exposure to the court such as dealing with clients, observing pleading from opposite parties, etc. LLB can only teach you 50% of law whilst the rest you learn only from practice at court and listening to cases. Hence, you cannot become a practicing lawyer after doing LLB distance education.
The Bar Council of India does not recognize the LLB distance education course as a valid course that builds a lawyer. Even though many institutes in south India claim to provide an LLB distance course, you should check if they are approved by the Bar Council.
Then what is the importance of the LLB distance education course?
Though you cannot become a lawyer, you can become anything apart from that. For example, you can become an advocate clerk, legal matter journalist, legal matter reporter, probation officer, research assistant, or after a B.Ed. curse you can even teach at law schools. Most importantly you can become an enlightened citizen and can help others in the matters of law.
Another advantage of the LLB distance education course is that it has no age bar. It is inexpensive and can be pursued at any age. Sometimes, some business requires knowledge of the law, consumer awareness, and crime and in such cases, a distance course is a right choice. It doesn’t require you to attend classes regularly, thus, saves your time as well as money.
