USA Universities that don’t accept GRE Scores for MS

Prospective aspirants from around the world who want to pursue a master’s in science, specialized master’s in business, MBA, JD or doctoral degree take the GRE General Test. GRE scores for MS and other programmes are used by admissions or fellowship panels to supplement your undergraduate records, recommendation letters and other qualifications for graduate-level study. They provide schools with a common measure for comparison.

During the pre covid era it was mandatory for almost every university to accept GRE for MS courses across the USA. However, after the pandemic, many students have faced the inability to give exams such as GRE and GMAT. Considering this, many universities have started giving GRE- waivers for the fall 2022 and Spring 2022 sessions.

Some of the universities which are relaxing this requirement for graduate school admissions for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2022 terms are :

1. Standford University

One of the most prestigious universities in the USA, Standford University home to Yahoo!, Google, Hewlett-Packard, and many other cutting-edge corporations that were started by and continue to be led by Stanford alumni and staff. However, due to conditions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, GSE will not require the GRE for admission for the 2022-2023 academic year. Although, some GSE programs will provide the opportunity to submit optional GRE scores.

2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology

For the 2022 graduate admission process, given the potential difficulty in access to testing due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Department of Mechanical Engineering will not require GRE tests for applications for graduate admission for 2022. 3. University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has chosen to waive off the GRE so as to encourage applicants to apply, regardless of whether they have been able to take the test. Hence, you may see the applicants with a decent GRE score gain an edge at this university over the applicants who do not submit a score. Yet, it is possible to apply to North Carolina – Chapel Hill without a GRE score.

4. University of Virginia

Candidates can send the GRE scores at their discretion to the University of Virginia. They have kept the score submission optional. 5. Michigan State University

The general GRE test is highly recommended but not required. The median GRE scores for recently admitted graduate students are 164 quantitative, 153 verbal, and 3.0 analytical writing. Note that different faculty weigh GRE scores differently, and we do not use GRE scores to eliminate any applicants from consideration.

6. University of Utah
