Every year, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) hosts the prestigious Green Talents – International Forum for young students who have a high potential in Sustainable Development. Every year, young researchers from numerous countries and scientific disciplines are selected each year for their achievements and efforts for making their communities, countries and societies more sustainable. With the collaboration of German experts, all participants will be able to contribute towards sustainable developmental goals.
A jury of German experts selects the researchers. The award winners are granted unique access to the country’s research elite. The theme of the Green Talents Competition in Germany 2021 is Sustainable developmental goals. All willing candidates must mention in their application that they will contribute through their research to which SDG goal they will be contributing.
All candidates should apply individually, not as a team. Students, who are enrolled in either masters or doctoral degree programs, will be eligible to apply. The prize of this scholarship consists of two parts. The 1st part includes an invitation to a virtual two-week science forum. The other part consists of a fully-funded stay in Germany in your choice of institute for conducting research.

Eligibility Criteria
- All international students are eligible to apply for Green Talents Competition in Germany 2021.
- One must either enrol in a Masters or doctoral degree program or a degree that you should not have completed more than three years ago.
- You should be willing to conduct research related to sustainable developmental goals.
- You must have a maximum of 3 years of work experience after degree completion.
- It will prioritise you based on academic excellence.
- Residents of Germany are not eligible to apply.

Benefits
This scholarship consists of two parts:
- The 1st part includes an invitation for a virtual two-week science forum. The participant would explore international meetings, renowned research facilities, workshops, science sessions, and excellent research.
- The other part consists of a fully-funded stay in Germany in your choice of institute for conducting research.
- The research stay will be fully financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF.
